Want to create the 2017-18 yearbook? Priority is given to those who have taken a class with Ms. Shirack, but all must fill out the application at the link below. Students chosen for Yearbook must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the school.

It's shaping up to be a great new year in Gorzycki Student Media. Staffers for The Roar yearbook, Digit newspaper, Digit.Press online and Gnasher News broadcast are already coming up with lots of ideas for this year's products. Stay tuned!

Journalism Banquet 5/31 from 3:30-4:30

We'll be celebrating our awards and accomplishments from this year. We've given out most awards during class, so this is an informal time to mingle. Students can be picked up when they need to leave, preferably by the bus zone at the end of the 500 hall. Thanks for a great year!

ILPC: UIL Journalism April 16 & 17

For those attending ILPC this weekend:
Saturday: The plan is to meet on 12:30 on Saturday in Welch Hall on 24th street on UT's campus.
Sunday: Either meet at 9:45 or 11:30. If at 9:45, meet at Welch Hall. If 11:00 for the Awards Ceremony, meet at LBJ Auditorium on Red River.

Apply for Yearbook for next year

If you've taken a class with in the Journalism department (any class with Ms. Shirack), you're eligible to take Yearbook next year. Rank it on your choice sheet and submit an application at http://yearbook.gmstigers.org by clicking on Apply for Yearbook on the right.

Submitting your Present Yourself project

In Movie Maker:

Click on Save movie>Recommended for this project and save into your Videos folder on the left side.

Do NOT click on Save Project As. That will save your movie incorrectly.

After it exports, make sure you watch back your project from the Videos folder and that it is EXACTLY how you want it.

See below for steps on how to upload to Google Classroom.

In iMovie:

click on Share>Export Movie. Save into your Movies folder on the left side.

Make sure you watch back your project from the Videos folder and that it is EXACTLY how you want it.

Then upload to Google Classroom.

To upload to Google Classroom:

Go to my.austinisd.org and login. Click the magnifying glass and type "classroom." Select Google Classroom.

To connect to our class, click the green plus sign and type in:

7th period: t3eqx0

Find the Present Yourself assignment and click Add>File and select the file from your Video/ Movie folders.

Tutoring: Students having difficulty with the course are strongly encouraged to seek my help outside of class as soon as possible. Office hours are generally 3:30 to 4:30, but a time must be prearranged. For morning tutoring, a pass must be issued ahead of time that will allow them to leave the common area in the morning.
