TIGER DAY 2019 IS COMING UP, MARCH 15TH! WRISTBANDS ARE ON SALE ON ONLINE NOW, SO DON'T FORGET TO TELL YOUR PARENTS TO ORDER ONE TODAY. THIS YEAR GMS IS CELEBRATING ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY WHICH MEANS TIGER DAY IS GOING TO BE FILLED WITH EVEN MORE GAMES, GIFT CARD GIVE-AWAYS, OUTDOOR OBSTACLES AND FUN!!! THE MOBILE GAME TRUCK IS RETURNING TOO FOR ALL YOU GAMERS! MORE TO COME NEXT WEEK!
Boys Track season will start on Monday March 4th before school. The first week we will have workouts before we start official time trials on Monday March 11th. All practices will begin at 7:00 in the gym. You must have a current physical on file in order to participate. If you are not in Athletics please come by the boy's office to sign up. Please see Coach Neary or Napoli with any questions.
Hey Students, did you know that Keyboarding is required for middle school students in AISD? Did you know that you have some options for meeting the requirement? One of those options is to take the Keyboarding Proficiency Test, which will be offered in March before Spring Break. The girls C team soccer finished an undefeated season this Saturday by defeating Small 9-0. With the win, the girls are now city champions. Abby O had a hat trick with three goals and Sarah A, Emma P and Audry W each scored 2. Congratulations on the great season ladies!

The 7th Grade A team won their first round playoff game last night defeating the Kealing Hornets by a score of 63-35. Wonder K led a balanced attack scoring 13 points. Mason W went for 12, Bennett S and Ian C hit for 9 and Danny G chipped in with 7. The Tigers play in the semifinals on Monday at Bailey. Tip time is set for 6:00. Come out and support the Tigers!
We are very happy to present the winners of the 2019 Vision + Voice Poetry Contest! Congratulations to the poets who shared their voices and created these wonderful poems. 6th grader Harper J. and 7th grader Hadley S. earned honorable mentions, and 7th grader Noah L. won first place! These authors' poems will be recorded for KLRU studios, published in the 2019 Vision + Voice Anthology, and celebrated at an award reception in April. Great job, poets!
Congrats to the 8th grade "A" basketball team for beating Paredes last night 67 to 54. The Tigers will be playing in the championship game on Wednesday at Burger center around 7:00. Athletes are Jake J, Lawrence W, Beck G, Conner H, Karsten I, Jackson H, Drue D, Lucas B, Alex L, Jacob K, Aaron G, Ethan M, Brady B, and Trey E. Please come out and support these har working student-athlets as they represent Gorzycki against the O Henry Mustangs.
Attention any student involved in teams, clubs or any other outside of school activity. The yearbook would love to feature your story and what goes on outside of school. If you'd like attention on your activity please sign up outside of room 508.
Girls track tryouts will be from Monday, March 11th - Wednesday, March 13th. Please see Coach Kehoe to sign up for 7th grade events and Coach Moreno to sign up for 8th grade events. You must have a 2018-2019 physical on file to tryout.
