Good Afternoon Gorzycki Tigers

Here are your announcements for today:

Attention 7th and 8th graders: On Tuesday, April 9th, 7th graders will be taking the STAAR writing test and 8th graders will be taking the STAAR Math test. On Wednesday, April 10th, 7th graders who are enrolled in Accelerated Math will be taking the 8th grade STAAR math test and 8th graders will be taking the STAAR reading test. On these testing days, when you are testing, you need to bring a sack lunch, book (paper book no electronic book) pencil and highlighters to your testing room. Students cannot have electronic devices or phones with them in their testing room (this includes blue tooth watches). If you forget a sack lunch you will be able to purchase one in the cafeteria on those days.

The no-bummer summer Ben Braver was hoping for is ruined when his best friend moves away. But it thankfully takes a positive turn when he’s invited to attend the very secretive Kepler Academy, where his lifelong dream of becoming a superhero may just come true. Kepler is a school for kids with special abilities. But when strange things start to happen, Ben wants to help. The problem is, why is he the only kid at school whose special abilities have not shown up yet? Can he be the superhero he’s always wanted to be without special powers? Buy the Super Life of Ben Braver at the Library Book Fair!

Attention Tigers! The following students are the winners for the daily book fair raffles: Cullen J. in 8th grade, Serena H. in 7th grade, Ryan T. in 6th grade, and Tessa P. in 6th grade. Please head to the library for your prizes!

Listen up 7th graders! PALS is an 8th grade Excel class in which students bond over fun, kindness, and food. We also serve as positive role models who mentor and tutor other students. Join in the fun -- Pick up your application from Ms. Sindt in room 804, download it from her website, or ask the PALS when they come visit your Excel class! Applications are due FRIDAY, APRIL 12.

Any students interested in participating in UIL Ready Writing and Editorial Writing, please visit Mrs. Russell in the library to sign-up.

Attention 6th and 7th graders: Are you interested in volunteering as a counselor for Transition Camp? We are currently taking applications for this summer's camp. To apply, go to Ms. Mazac's website and fill out the form by this Friday, April 5th.

Join us for Fellowship of Christian Athletes every Thursday right after school, 3:45-4:15 in the Commons. You don't need to be an athlete to come join us for games, a talk, prayer, and often a snack! We hope you can join us this week!
