Good Afternoon Gorzycki Tigers

Here are your announcements for today

Glee small group students & choir officers are reminded to come to the choir room during Excel on Tuesday.

The GMS Fine Arts Department will be performing for GMS students on Thursday in the gym. Students should report to their classroom before coming to the gym with their teacher. Do not bring backpacks or cell phones to the performances. 8th graders will go during 2nd period, 7th graders will go during 3rd period, & 6th graders will go during 6th period.

GMS Choir students are to wear their holiday colors & report directly to the choir room at the beginning of 1st period on Thursday to check roll, warm up, & get ready for the performances.

Round 2 of the Spelling Bee is tomorrow! If you received a yellow notification of your advancement in Excel last week, report directly to room 704 after announcements tomorrow. Study the spelling list you were given, and good luck!

The Boys Soccer B-Team won their last game of the season on Saturday at Bedichek 11-0. Coach MacKenzie wants to thank all the B-team players for a wonderful season: Tristan B, Jake C, Griffin C, Colin D, Ryan F, Oliver R, Jacob K, Vishwa K, Cooper L, Diego M, Alonso M, Max N, Jason O, Colin R, Diego R, Alan R, Marcos S, Diego S, Kayden S, Gibson S, Omar U, and Derek Y. Please remember to turn in your jerseys to Coach MacKenzie.

Are you interested in joining the GMS Tiger Cap 10k team this year? Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader is invited to register and participate in all of our training sessions and the big race on April 7th. To register, please visit Coach MacKenzie's gmstigers website and follow the instructions.

If you are planning to take a Credit by Exam, the registration forms are due on Tuesday, December 18th to the counselor's office.

The 8th Grade A Lady Tigers beat the Covington Colts last in the first round of the playoffs by a score of 37-17. The Tigers defense stepped up in the second half only allowing 2 points. Izzy D led the way on offense scoring 19 points while Haley B and Brook P each added 6. The Tigers play Kealing on Monday for a chance to advance to the City championship.

The 7th grade A girls basketball team defeated Fulmore last night 65-10. Maya A. had 14 points while Makayla Z., Emme S. and Micah W. each added 10 points. Addison S. and Laila A. both contributed 7 points. Reese N. had 5 steals, Sam G. had 4 steals, while Marley C., Morgan V. and Audrey W. each had 3 steals. Come watch the tigers take on the Bailey Bears on Monday at home at 6:00.

Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls. Girls soccer try outs will be held Monday, January 7th, and Tuesday, January 8th after school until 5:30. These are the first two days back after the winter break and you must have an athletic physical on file in order to try out. If you have any questions please see Coach Sindt, Coach Mahoney, or Coach Nyc.

The cheerleaders are sponsoring a Theme week this week to get ready for Winter Break!

Tomorrow, be sure to wear socks for “Socks off for Winter Break”- wear your favorite holiday socks!

Come join us for FCA on Thursdays in the commons. Meetings start at 3:45 and are done by 4:10. All are welcome 6th-8th grade and you do not need to be involved with any sport. See you on Thursdays!
