Last Night the Boys 7th and 8th Basketball C teams opened up their 2019 seasons with wins over O'Henry Middle School. 7th grade overcame a slow start to win 36-12. 8th grade dominated the entire way winning 64-14. They were led by outstanding defensive performances from Travis S., Max B., and Jackson M. Ty C and Benton A led the way on offense. Congratulate your classmates on the great start to the season, and come out and support your C team Tigers at their next home game!
Attention 8th grade Students On Wednesday, January 30th 8th grade students are participating in amazing event. We will be taking all 8th graders to a city wide Youth Career Fest. Here you will be able to speak with professionals who work in a plethora of different career fields. You will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from many colleges and universities. Since we will be off campus on Wednesday, January 30th you will need to bring a sack lunch to school. We also ask that you dress your best as you will be meeting professionals and college representatives. If you have any questions please ask your 8th grade teachers or Mrs. Hodges.
Please donate to The Souper Bowl of Caring. The Excel class that donates the most cans to the food drive will receive a popcorn party during Excel! Donate Peanut butter, canned chicken breast or tuna, canned low sodium vegetables, canned fruit in its own juice (no sugar added), dry pinto beans, brown rice, non-fat dry milk powder, 100% whole grain cereal Our goal is 2000 pounds of food The drive ends Jan 30th.
Do you hope to someday be a published writer? If so, come to Writing Club this Friday to learn about submission opportunities for teens. The club meets in room 706 from 3:45-4:45PM. All are welcome.

Hello everyone, we have some great news about Anime Club! It is now open for everyone! However, you must apply in order to attend Anime Club. Applications can be given in Room 301 or in Room 712. Applications are due January 30th. The meeting this week will be in Room 712. See you Thursday!
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader interested in joining the Cap 10k team this year should sign up and register as soon as possible. Our first training session begins Friday February 1st! Please see your science teacher or Coach MacKenzie in Room 714 for registration details.
