Good Afternoon Gorzycki Tigers

Here are your announcements for today

PAWS for Fun resumes next week and there is a pep rally on Thursday. Therefore, GMS will be on a Pep Rally schedule every day.

Hey Students, did you know that Keyboarding is required for middle school students in AISD? Did you know that you have some options for meeting the requirement? One of those options is to take the Keyboarding Proficiency Test, which will be offered in March before Spring Break. Students who tested for the Gifted and Talented Program may report to Mrs. Reedy's room, room 605, after announcements if they wish to work on their projects.

Think you know SCIENCE? See Mr. Wieners in room 716 before, during, or after school to get a stamp to try out for UIL Science. UIL Science is open to all grade levels. Tryout for the opportunity to complete in April against students at other schools Tryouts are during Excel this week February 6 - 8th, or next week on the 13th and 14th.

There will be no Writing Club this week. Writing Club will resume next Friday, February 15th.

The girls soccer A-team won a huge match last weekend by defeating Ann Richards by a final score of 4 to 0. Hayley B lead all scoring with 2 goals and Brooke P and Reese N added one goal each. Up next for the girls is Bedichek. Game time is 9am this Saturday here at Gorzycki

The Girls Soccer B Team beat Ann Richards 2- 0 on Saturday. Caroline M scored and so did Megan M. Next up the Tigers play at home this Saturday versus Bedicheck. Kick off is 10:30. Come out and support your Tiger Soccer!!


From January 30th to February 12th student council will be selling valentine candy grams they are $1 and you can purchase them during your lunch. The candy will be delivered on February 14th to your friends excel. Buy them for your friends and valentine!

Attention 7th & 8th Grade students! Dress code for the Valentine’s dance includes skirts and dresses that are fingertip length. Dresses may be spaghetti strap as long as there are two distinct straps, did you hear that? Two distinct straps, (strapless dress and shown midriffs are not allowed). Shorts are not allowed as students dress up for this event.


Students are permitted to have electronic devices at school; however, these devices must remain turned off and out of sight during the school instructional day unless they are being used for approved instructional purposes. This includes cell phones and smart watches. Additionally, students shall not possess any telecommunication devices during a testing period. If a student uses a telecommunication device without permission (this includes smart watches) the device will be confiscated and held for 48 hours with a 15.00 fine. If the device is confiscated on a Thursday or Friday, it will be released on Monday.
