Good Afternoon Gorzycki Tigers
Here are your announcements for today:

Round 2 of the GMS Spelling Bee is coming up! If you spelled 8 or more words correctly in the spelling test you took in your ELA class, you should have received a blue paper during Excel yesterday notifying you about your advancement. If you didn't get this paper, and you feel like you should have, ask your Excel teacher first, or check with Mrs. Snyder in room 704. Congratulations to those of you who made it; you are among the top 50 spellers in the whole school! See you on December 11th for round 2.

Attention ALL students: FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes is back! We plan on having our first Huddle on December 5th. Huddles will be on Thursday afternoons from 3:45 - 4:10 and will be held in Room 504. FCA is NOT just for Athletes. All students are welcome from all grade levels in this Club. Any students that would like to be Leaders for FCA need to see Coach Houser in Room 814. We are in need of 6th and 7th graders and are particularly looking for female leaders. Thank you.

Composition club will meet this Friday in room 518. All music students are welcome whether you have been to previous meetings or not. See Ms. Allevato for more details.

There is no Writing Club this week. Our next meeting will be on Friday, December 13th. Happy Thanksgiving, writers!

All you have to do is bring any new or gently used jacket or coat, and drop it in one of the big boxes located in the Commons and inside of the library. You can also give your coat to Ms. Sindt in Room 804. Any kids’ size coat, from infant to teen will work! If you don’t have a jacket to donate, you can still donate cash online! Good Afternoon Gorzycki Tigers
Here are your announcements for today:

The 8B basketball team continued to dominate, beating Ann Richards 60-0. Sophie S. led the team in scoring with 15 points, Mia R had 10 and Sam G scored 8. Every player on the team scored. The tigers are unbeaten, and next take on Paredes.

The 7th grade B girls basketball team defeated Ann Richards last Thursday 39-4. Tanya E. led in rebounding while also putting up 6 points. Reagan K. and Sienna M. played aggressive defense and earned the most steals. Maddie M. led in scoring with 11 points. The girls are now 4-0 and face Paredes at home Thursday. Go, Tigers!

The 7th grade girls A basketball team handed Ann Richards their 1st loss of the season winning by a score of 43-18. Jazz led the way scoring 13 points and playing tough defense. Kaitlyn C scored 8, Val P had 6 and Natalia P chipped in with 5 as well as leading the team in rebounds. The girls are back in action on Thursday against Paredes. Great job Tigers!

Composition club will meet this Friday in room 518. All music students are welcome whether you have been to previous meetings or not. See Ms. Allevato for more details.

Thanks to all who participated in the Be the I in Kind Campaign last week. The Boys Soccer A-Team defeated Lamar Middle School on Saturday 3-0. Scoring was led by Griffin C with 3 goals. Man of the Match goes to Griffin C for scoring a Hat Trick! The Boys A-Team will face Bailey Middle School this Saturday at Gorzycki beginning at 9 am and the B-Team at 10:30 am. Come support your Tiger Soccer Teams!!!

Here are your announcements for today:

Several GMS 7th graders submitted entries to the VFW Patriot's Pen writing contest through their ELA classes. Our local VFW post 3377 has judged and awarded 3 first place winners from our area, and 2 of them are from Gorzycki! A huge congratulations goes out to 7th graders Nate M. and Noah L. They will each be receiving a $200 prize from Post 3377 and their essays will be forwarded to District 28 to be judged against all other winners from the Posts in District 28. Way to go, Nate and Noah, and thank you to all who participated!

Come to Writing Club this Friday from 3:45-4:45 in room 706. Everyone is welcome, even if you have not attended before.

GSA is meeting today in room 514. Gay Straight Alliance is an inclusive club open to all staff and students at Gorzycki. We will be meeting from 3:45-4:30. Hope to see you there!

All forms for the GMS Choir caroling trip are due tomorrow. No exceptions!

Don’t forget, our Be the “I” in Kind campaign is going on all week. Today’s focus is showing kindness to yourself. Forgive yourself, speak kindly to yourself, do something that makes you smile. Here are your announcements for today:

8th graders, the MCCallum Fine Arts Academy will not be on campus today and will be re-scheduled for a later day. More information coming soon.

Don’t forget, Be the “I” in Kind campaign is going on all week. Tuesday’s focus is showing kindness to a someone in a different grade. Help them with their stuff, tell them good morning, let them tell you about something they are excited about. Being kind costs you nothing, but means everything. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Yellow Boat. They were awarded 2nd runner up at the UIL one act play zone competition yesterday. Individual student awards were given to Devyn S for Outstanding Technician, Zach K and Madigan P for Honorable Mention All Star Cast, Lola D for All Star Cast and Jadon D for Best Performer. congratulations to all the cast and crew. Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Huerta are proud of your performance.

Good Afternoon Gorzycki Tigers
Here are your announcements for today:

The 8th grade A girls basketball team had a big win against Bedichek last night. Maya A. lead all scoring with 19 points and had 9 steals. Addison S. added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Makayla Z also had 10 points at 12 rebounds. Laila A. had 9 points and Micah W. contributed 7 points. Audrey W. did an excellent job running the floor and made some great passes. Morgan V. played great defense and added 7 steals. Great job Lady Tigers!

Mr. Montemayor would like to thank all of the students who competed in the AISD region guitar auditions this year for all of you hard work. He would like to congratulate Besa C, Mia E, Clayton M, Leighton N, and Ezra S for making in into the region ensemble. All of you hard work paid off. Congrats!

The 7th grade A girls basketball team defeated Bedichek last night 61-2, and the 7th grade B girls basketball team also won against Bedicek 47-2. The girls play at home next week against Ann Richards. Come out and support the Tigers!

The 8th grade B team recorded their first shut-out of the season, beating Bedicheck 66-0. The girls are now 3-0 on the season and next take on Ann Richards. Great win ladies!

When the Donahues move into the neighborhood, life immediately improves for Sophie. She’s never met a friend like Hannah Donahue. Next week starts our kindness campaign, Be the “I” in Kind. Campus staff will be trying to catch students being kind to each other, adults, the school, and the environment. We can’t all be the best at everything, but we can all be kind. If you’re caught being kind, you’ll earn an entry ticket for one of several fun prizes. Take your ticket, write your name and id number on it, and put it in one of the boxes in the office, library, or on the stage. We’ll draw winners November 15. Details during EXCEL on Monday.

8th graders, did you know there is a Fine Arts Academy High School in AISD? MCCallum Fine Arts Academy will be visiting Gorzycki on Tuesday, November 12th during EXCEL. McCallum Fine Arts Academy offers advanced programming for Visual Arts, Dance, Film making, Choir, Band, Guitar, Orchestra, Piano, Theater and Musical Theater. If you would like to have a high school experience that is fine-arts-focused, come meet with the McCallum rep to learn about applications and auditions, on Tuesday, November 12th during EXCEL in the choir room, Rm 308.

The Lady Tigers C-Team Basketball teams played Small last night. The 7th-grade team was victorious over Small 28 to 14, The lady tigers demonstrated outstanding team defense and offense. The 8th-grade team was masterful in their victory over the Small Cougars 42-16. The ferocious lady tiger's defense was on display all game. Congratulations to both teams one their victories.
