Enrichment and Extra Credit

1. Download the contest guidelines and instructions by clicking the link.
2. Read all guidelines carefully, noting which contests are open to 6th and 7th graders, how many lines are allowed, and how to correctly submit your entry.
3. Turn in your submission along with an addressed/ stamped envelope to Ms. Carter by Tuesday, March 10, 2020
Write an original poem - you can use any of the poems you drafted in your notebook, or you can write a new one!
28 lines or fewer, any form, any subject
Type it  - make sure to include a title.  (font: Times New Roman or Calibri)
Print two copies. Print one copy of the poem with no heading.
In the upper right corner, on one copy only, type:
Your first and last name
Your age and grade

4th 6-Weeks:
1/10 /2020 Sejong Writing Competition
(Instructions are in the attached document)
 Complete one or both of the options for the 2020 Sejong Writing Competition. Submit online and turn in proof of submission (printed, screenshot, etc.) to Ms. Carter  NO LATER THAN February 26th.
Students who complete the extra credit correctly and on time will be able to add 5 points to a major grade.

Hey Tigers, go to the TX Book Festival.
WHEN: Saturday, October 26th  10:00AM – 5:00PM
             Sunday, October 27th  11:00AM – 5:00PM
  • Listen to and meet lots of authors.
  • Have an awesome time.
  • Take a selfie with evidence.
  • Earn +5 points on a major grade.
