7th Grade Parents New from Mr. Kvapil
Welcome back seventh grade parents!. Now that most of you have a year under your belts, the start of this school year will probably be a bit less stressful than the previous year. You will however, notice a few minor differences and changes going into seventh grade. This year, as seventh graders, your students will congregate in the commons during morning arrival instead of the cafeteria. They will have more freedom to move about and socialize. We’ve tightened up our cell phone policy a bit and students will need to refrain from using them in the mornings while socializing in the commons. Several of your students may be participating in UIL sports/activities this year and will be expected to handle the responsibility of managing time between such activities and academics. Students also enjoy attending said events as spectators. Please make sure you pick you child up from school sponsored events in a timely manner (within 10 minutes of the conclusion of the event). As a reminder, seventh graders are required to have an up-to-date immunization record. Students not meeting this requirement at the start of the school year will not be permitted to attend class beyond the August 27th exclusion date. So be sure to take care of your shots! Seventh graders will receive lockers on the 22nd of August during their EXCEL class. Seventh grade students are expected to take care of their lockers on their own without the need for parent support. However, should a student need help regarding a locker issue, I will be available to assist. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to seeing you again!
