Coats for Kids Coat Drive
Hey Tigers! The PAL program is organizing a coat drive for Coats for Kids. All you have to do is bring any new or gently used jacket or coat, and drop it in one of the big boxes located in the Commons and inside of the library. You can also give your coat to Ms. Sindt in Room 804.
Any kids’ size coat, from infant to teen will work! If you don’t have a jacket to donate, you can still donate cash online! If donating online, please indicate that you would like your donation directed to Gorzycki. This helps us be competitive in the contest for which school collects the most coats/money!
Donations will be accepted until November 28. We appreciate your donations!
BOOK FAIR: DONATE A BOOK DRIVE
The Scholastic Book Fair is being held at the GMS library November 5 - 10. NJHS has organized a book drive for the patients of Dell Children’s hospital. Please consider donating a NEW book purchased from the Book Fair. For each donation, the purchaser will be entered in a drawing to win a book fair poster! Just tell the librarian that you want to donate a book. Every book counts! Thank you!

The following changes were made for the Bowie Vertical Team.
All Bowie Vertical Team Elementary Schools (Baldwin, Baranoff, Clayton, Cowan, Kiker, and Mills) will begin at 7:40 a.m. each day. The warning bell will ring at 7:35 am and students will be counted tardy if not in classrooms by 7:40 a.m. Students will be released each day at 3:00 p.m.
· Bailey and Gorzycki start time and end time will remain the same.
· Bowie High School start time and end time will remain the same.
This slight adjustment in our start/end time will allow us to add four additional days of professional development for our staff, which will allow our teachers to collaborate on lessons, analyze data, and engage in professional learning to better serve our students. On these days, students will not attend school.
The professional development dates are:
· All Bowie Vertical Team Elementary Schools: September 24th, January 3rd and 4th, and February 15th.
· Bailey and Gorzycki Middle School: September 24th, January 3rd and 4th and February 15th. (NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS)
· Bowie High School: October 5th, January 3rd and 4th, and February 15th.
