 The deadline for all submissions is 12/31/18 (during break)

Expectations for ELA (Soudry)

Submit your poem(s) and parent permission online. You can enter more than once! For extra credit in ELA for the fourth six weeks grading period, turn in your poem and an emailed or printed confirmation of your submission when you return to school on 1/7/19. 

Note: If you want to submit the poem that you wrote in class, make sure that your ideas are original. Do not copy any exact phrases from the poem that we read in class.

Week of January 14th
*We will continue our Poetry Unit this week :)
-Our first Phoenix House lesson will be on Monday. Opt-out forms must be signed and turned in before the lesson only if you are not going to participate. 
 
 
Week of January 7th
-Welcome back to school!
-Our Poetry Unit begins :)
-Homework: Give your parents/guardians the Phoenix House Letter and opt-out form. The opt-out form only needs to be signed and returned if you will not be participating in this program that begins on 1/14/19. 
 
 
Week of December 17th
-We are wrapping up our grading period this week. Please attend tutoring if you have any missing work to make up. 
-Have a wonderful break! :) 
 
Week of December 10th
-Text Structure Quiz on Tuesday 12/11
-This will be an open-note quiz on BLEND
 
Week of December 3rd
 -Text structure unit continues
-Homework due Tuesday 12/4: Interview and Reflection (you can turn it in anytime before Tuesday if you finish it early)

 -The illustrated Children's Stories are DUE at the start of class on Thursday 11/15.
-Extra credit opportunity: enter the PTA Reflections contest by Wednesday!

 -We continue our Children's Stories unit this week! DUE 11/15.
-Due Wednesday 11/7: Your story must be completely typed before the start of class because we will start revising. Attend my Excel on Tuesday to finish it, and/or work on it at home.

-Due 9/5: Draft Check for Book in a Bag- Do you have your props? What is your plan for this project? You will have some time to write your summary in class.
-Due 9/12: Book in a Bag project
-Friday 9/7: We will work on IStation during class. I will provide headphones, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.
